Owner info

Year Purchased: 1900

About the owner: I live with my husband and our young daughter in a country side 30 km from Rome – north side. Manage it is our main business. We breed organic cows and we have a farm for holidays. We live there and we like to welcome people all over the word. We like traveling around the world and often we spend our free time so! Knowing people and discover countries is the best way to increase your knowledge.

Why the Owner Chose Navona: This apartment belongs to my husband’s family since the first years of the 1900s. The Grand father of my husband, Nonno Pompeo, bought this property because he likes this ancient area. We always thank him! It is fantastic to have such a wonderful apartment in the earth of Rome. For long time we rented it an a family but now we like sometimes and to spend few days at Residenza Sansoni just walking and discovering the simple life of these narrow streets.

The Unique Benefits at this Studio: Residenza Sansoni is located close to Piazza Navona, Roman forum and Coloseum, in the historic center of Rome, west of the Pantheon. The Piazza Navona area is full of many outdoor cafes, restaurants and night clubs in the neighbourhood . Restaurant downstairs, “Al Braciere”, makes to our guests a special price and offer a test of genuine Roman cooking. Piazza Campo Dei Fiori is very close to Residenza Sansoni. This piazza become a popular spot for people to hang out to admire wonderful Renaissance and Baroque buildings, street artists, musicians and poets. By day Campo de’ Fiori is dominated by a world famous outdoor food market. By late afternoon a large team of street cleaners have removed any trace of the market and it becomes the lazy hangout for those having a coffee or aperitivo in one of the many outdoor bars lining the piazza. In the summer people spill out of the bars into the piazza and it has a party like atmosphere. The area always has a vibrant feel and is home to some of the best restaurants in town.

  • Susan "Great Location" Date of stay 1st September 2013

The apartment is located within easy walking distance from the Vatican and lots of other sightseeing highlights. If you are arriving by train to Roma Termini you might want to take a cab to the apartment, it is approx. a 20 to 25 minute walk from the train station. The apartment has lots of restaurants, shops and at least two or three grocery stores that are very close by. The apartment itself is clean, a nice size, has an adequate kitchen facility. Working with Olivia was easy and she made the arrival and settling into the apartment easy. The only issue is if you can't do stairs, however this is common through Europe, so be prepared for 3 flights of stairs. I would definitely recommend this apartment to a couple who wants a good location for a few days in Rome.

  • Rome Studio Guest "Perfect Location" Date of stay 14th October 2013

The location of this studio is absolutely tops. Not only is it in walking distance of the major sites, there are buses and a taxi stand within minutes. The owner, Olivia, was wonderful in giving us tips to restaurants and how to get around. The studio has a lovely, large bathroom with plenty of hot water (not always the case in Italy). We would have liked a slightly bigger place but it was not available. the cooking corner is very small but we only made coffee in the morning.

  • Amy "Great Location" Date of stay 10/20/13

We spent 6 nights here in October. We found it extremely convenient in terms of location. We were within walking distance to all of the must-see tourist spots and close to some good eating spots. The property is a studio apartment, so big enough for a couple (which is how we were traveling) but might be a bit tight for any more than that. Olivia provided some good info on local eating spots. The kitchen is small, but big enough for simple cooking. The only issue we had was that the shower wasn't draining properly. Also, note that there isn't a washer/dryer in the apartment so you will need to go to the laundry that is close to the apartment if you need laundry done. Overall, a convenient and affordable place to stay whilst in Rome, with all of the comforts of home.
